Bibelots is a jewelry line I designed many years ago. After being featured in several local, regional and national outlets, including on HGTV’s “That’s Clever!” program and traveling around the country selling my wares at juried art shows, I decided to take a much needed break.
Coincidentally, while taking a hiatus from designing jewelry, I discovered the joys of crocheting which segued into learning how to spin my own yarn, felting and knitting.
Now, my primary focus is on creating organic hair products, specifically for natural- haired folks. Initially, I am concentrating on shampoo, conditioner and a hair oil that promises to be miraculous!
While I miss making jewelry, however, and intend to resume my first love in early 2012, I’m not sure I’ll be doing the art circuit. I think I’d rather focus on selling my wares in boutiques and on Etsy.
I have always been intrigued by anything hand-crafted and fell into it quite by accident. As a self-taught artisan, I challenge you to make something of your own today!
As we all know, our economy is not thriving so this is the perfect moment in time for you to put your hands on some raw materials and create! And who knows, maybe it could be a secondary income for you!
If you take up this challenge, let me know. I’d love to see what you create.
